He is the first player to break the 13-goal and 13-assist barrier in the Bundesliga this season.

Luis Díaz celebrates his goal against Real Madrid.
Luis Fernando Díaz Marulanda (Barrancas, 1997) forms alongside Harry Kane and Michael Olise the most prolific attacking trio in Europe. The former Liverpool star, signed last summer for €70 million, has allowed Bayern to perfect their “steamroller” approach.
His two assists in the 4-2 victory over Stuttgart helped seal the title and set an unprecedented record: he became the first player in Europe’s top leagues this season to accumulate at least 13 goals (he now has 15) and 13 assists. He is also the only Bundesliga player to achieve this since Opta began recording data in 2004-05.
“Coming to Bayern was the right choice. I am happy and enjoying every game. I feel great, I am in good form, and that means I am ready to help the team. We have a clear plan, we are a very united group, and that shows on the pitch,” he said to ESPN.
On top of that, he had scored in three consecutive Champions League matches: the round of 16 second leg against Atalanta (4-1), the away game at the Bernabéu (1-2), and the quarterfinal second leg against Real Madrid (4-3). His 89th-minute equalizer (3-3) — before Olise’s winner — effectively knocked out the Spanish side.
“I think it’s among the top three goals of my career, if not the best. Looking back at my important goals, this one is one of my favorites and the most meaningful given the moment of the match,” admitted Bayern’s No. 14.
His contribution is highly valued by coach Vincent Kompany: “Lucho brings a lot to the team. He can dribble, create chances, and finish, but what makes him special is his mentality. He is not afraid of chaos and becomes a threat in those situations. He brings a lot of energy to the team. You can only congratulate the club for signing a player like him.”
Meanwhile, Oliver Kahn remains amazed at his arrival: “First of all, credit must be given to Slot and Liverpool for allowing this transfer to happen. When Bayern faced the choice between Díaz and Gakpo, we didn’t hesitate. We made the right decision. Díaz is one of the best left wingers in Europe, and he has consistently proven that this season despite being 29. His ability to dribble, create danger, and score goals has been exceptional. What he brings to this team has elevated us: his influence is huge, and that Colombian fighting spirit, that refusal to give up, has been fundamental for us.”
