Nikita Komarov, a Gagarin Cup winner with Avangard, has confidently predicted that Lokomotiv Yaroslavl will beat Ak Bars Kazan in the KHL final series. Speaking about the matchup, Komarov emphasized Lokomotiv’s attention to detail under coach Bob Hartley, with whom he previously worked.
“Lokomotiv will win. They are a team that is more focused on details. I worked with Bob [Hartley], and I know what he brings. I think it will pay off,” Komarov said.
He compared the two teams across key positions: “Goaltenders are more or less equal in my view. On defense, I like Kazan more – they have variety and attacking defensemen. Up front, it will be a great battle. I think the series will end 4-3 in favor of Lokomotiv. They will grind it out.”
Komarov’s prediction comes as the two teams prepare to face off for the championship, with Ak Bars advancing despite a rocky regular season and Lokomotiv showing formidable form in the playoffs.
