LINE Yahoo Corporation has introduced a set of common terms of use, applicable to all users of its services and software products, collectively referred to as “Company Services.” These terms replace previous fragmented policies and aim to provide a unified framework for users across platforms like LINE and Yahoo! JAPAN.
Chapter 1: General Provisions
1. Definitions
The terms define key concepts to ensure clarity:
- Content: Includes text, audio, music, images, videos, software, programs, code, and other information.
- Company Content: Refers to content accessible through Company Services.
- Posting: The act of uploading, displaying, providing, or transmitting content on Company Services.
- User Content: Content posted by customers (users) on Company Services.
- Individual Terms: Additional conditions such as agreements, rules, guidelines, or policies for specific services, distributed separately.
- Fee: Any charges, including usage fees, subscription costs, or other expenses related to the use of Company Services (including debt collection entrusted by third parties).
- Subscription Service: A service allowing users to access specific content or features for a fixed period in exchange for a fee.
2. Use of Company Services
To use any Company Service, whether free or account-based, users must agree to these common terms. For free services (those usable without account registration), actual use constitutes agreement. Minors must obtain consent from a legal guardian. Businesses using the services must ensure their enterprise also agrees to these terms. All customers are responsible for their own use of the services.
3. Restrictions on Use
LINE Yahoo may limit service access to registered account holders (including LINE accounts and Yahoo! JAPAN IDs), require a minimum age, or impose identity verification and other conditions. The company reserves the right to deny use to individuals associated with antisocial forces (including past members) or those who abuse services or cause harm to third parties.
4. Account Registration Information
When registering, users must provide true and accurate information and keep it up to date. The company expects customers to maintain the accuracy of their registration details.
